BUDSUCS Stand-up comedy night

BUDSUCS' Stand-up comedy night was so in demand this week, that organiser Kinga Kremer had to schedule an additional show for Monday night. Even so, Tuesday night's show was packed. The Cotton Club on Jokai u., the new home of Budsucs (previously at Repete Sarok), put on a buffet dinner included with the ticket. Unfortunately, it was not nearly as good as last time. Also, the drink prices are way too high. On the other hand, I think the atmosphere at the<!-- pagebreak -->stephen grantCotton Club is more suited to the show, especially since it is a non-smoking venue. The standouts of the show were Christian Schulte-Loh from Germany, and Stephen Grant from the UK. Christian's popcorn joke in particular, and Stephen's whole show had us rocking. Although I still do not like the cheap personal attacks on the audience members style of comedy, the MC-ing was better this time. Hmmm, and my friend Robin does look a bit like Uri Geller. Christian lives here, as does Stephen's mother, so I hope they will become regulars. I hope Kinga can also lure back Henning Wehn and Scott Capurro this year. English stand-up comedy has long been missed on the scene, and we wish them much success. See our newsletter for their upcoming monthly events.
