What are the Stars Saying About Treehugger Dan's?

During the shooting of Hellboy 2 in Etyek last year, Selma Blair and Jeffrey Tambor were regular customers. It was a real Notting Hill Moment when Selma walked in the first time. I asked here if it was her first time here, and how she had heard about the place. She said she was with a film in Budapest. I asked her if she was in production or acting<!-- pagebreak -->selma blair in it. I hate to say it, but I had not heard her name before, though I enjoyed Hellboy 1. She was very cool, often coming in with her dog, and bringing in books just to give me. When I realised she had given me a signed first edition Ian Mcewan, I contacted her to see if it was a mistake, but she said no, just keep it. That book will pay the rent for a month, thanks!

Jeffrey Tambor, whose name I did not recognise, but the face instantly, was also a regular customer from the film.jeffrey tambor He came in one day, pulling up on his bicycle, and said, "Hey, I've been looking for you." He loved the place, and called it an "oasis" for him. We got to talking, and he is on the board of the Environmental Media Association. He mentioned the names of a few fellow board members like Ed Begley Jr.. I said, "oh yeah, St. Elsewhere!" He could not believe I remembered that show (well, it was on the last time I saw US tv), and said Ed would get a kick out of it when he told him.

Both Selma and Jeffrey said that if their shooting schedule allowed (unfortunately, it did not), they would be happy to help out with the campaign to save Hunyadi ter and the market there.

tibor fischer Tibor Fischer launched his new book, Good to be God last year at Treehugger Dan's. He read for about 20 minutes, answered questions, and signed books for about an hour for the 60-70 people that came. Since then, Tibor has been a regular. He came in this week on his way to Poland where a theater was putting on one of the short stories from his collection Don't Read This Book If You're Stupid. His Under the Frog, short-listed for the Booker Prize in 1993 (?) is a must-read. Tibor said "the book launch at Treehugger Dan's was the best event of this book tour." OK Booker Prize short-listers, line up!
