Best lunch menu in Budapest

New York Pizza is a little gem hidden away about half-way up Szondi u. Both Chew.hu and the Budapest Times have given it rave reviews, especially the service. Well, I found the service aggressive and pushy. Maybe this is New York style and I have been in Hungary too long where there is usually the opposite problem - no service. But leaving the service aside, New York Pizza does a great lunch menu. For about 1200 huf you have a choice of pastas, choice of salad, a desert, and a bag of garlic bread rolls. I ordered the chicken parmesan menu. There was so much food that I ended up eating it for 2 lunches and a dinner. The chicken roll is also massive and delicious. Be advised that if you walk in, you will have to wait 15-20 minutes for your food. I call and order ahead, and they have no problem with that (in fact, they suggested it). The pizza was ok, but it was very nice to finally find an Italian restaurant that offers both parmesan and dried hot pepper shakers instead of paprika on the table. New York Pizza also offers breakfast, including french toast and pancakes, but I have not tried this yet.
