Michael Kentish Concert (UK) at Treehugger Dan's

michael kentishMichael Kentish just keeps on growing as an artist. Will someone please tgive this amazingly talented singer-songwriter a record contract?! Besides some of my favorite The Random Chocolates tunes such as "Pure" and "Casa Retro," he played my all-time favorite Michael Kentish song from the Tea Thieves, "When We Were Five." He also performed a wide range of covers including Radiohead's "Airbag," David Bowie, and a surpringly fresh folk version of the Beastie Boy's "Fight for Your Right to Party." Several new orognials filled out the set.

Mike started writing his own material at the behest of one Carlo Vila. These songs would later be played in the band Tasty Geezer, and performed around the south of his native England during the 1990s. He went on to record an album of sample-based breakbeat under the name of The Infiltrator. Having ended up in Budapest in 2000, he played bass and sang with Tea Thieves, as well as Fabulon. He has also played in ethno trance outfit Pupilla Project, which would lead to him working with Latin crossover band caracasUnderpop. He also currently plays bass and sings with The Random Chocolates, Poniklo Imre and BRING.

Mike will perform with Jamie Howell, also formerly of the Tea Thieves on December 18th at Treehugger Dan's.
