I should know better

I should know better, I really should, but not wanting to go home and face a cold flat ("new" heating system on the fritz), I met up with Josey and Mike at the dive on the corner of Madach ter. From the outside, it looks like such a dive that I had never been in, but while small, it is not so bad. Service is typically Hungarian. After a couple pohars (and at this point I really should have gone home), we moved on to a more upscale place, but that one is a blur. Then the Rezangyal palinka bar on Madach ter where service was slow at best and we tried a chestnut palinka - disappointing in its lack of chestnut flavor or odor, but very, very smooth. We then swung into Rumbach Szebastian u. and had very nice service at some Irish-themed place (well, judging by dark paneling and the Pogues greatest hits - but not sung by the Pogues - on the stereo). The last stop was at Castro Bistro, also on Madach ter, for some of the best potato pancakes (tocsni/lapcsanka/latkes)I have ever had (with the exception of Grandma Bloom's and Dora's of course). My head hurts, but it was a great and rare night out with the boys.
