New Publication: Welcome to Budapest
The British International School of Budapest has just launched their book, Welcome to Budapest. Many parents and teachers helped with its creation, but the two main editors are Diane Wilkinson and Becky Wilcox. It is a very beautifully-designed and colourful book with many helpful hints and addresses for families just moving to Budapest. I was invited up to BISB for the launch because Treehugger Dan’s is not mentioned once, but TWICE in the booklet. Thanks! Chapters in the 45-page publication include, among others, Babies in Budapest (f.e. restaurants with highchairs), Security, At Loose Ends, Being Green (organic shops, vegetarian restaurants, recycling, flea markets), Pets (vets, boarding kennels), Lawyers, How to Pay Bills (step-by-step how to fill out those yellow checks), Medical and Banking. A couple years ago, when BISB was designing its additional wing, they brought in consultants like myself to make it as environmentally-friendly as possible. For more info, contact: admissions@bisb.hu
The North American Women’s Association of Hungary (NAWA) has a similar publication, Surviving and Thriving in Hungary. It is 3000 huf, and available at Treehugger Dan’s. The entire sum goes to the many charities the organization supports. Treehugger Dan’s 100% Arabica organic Fair Trade coffee is also the official coffee of NAWA.
