Poniklo Imre Concert: Fel a Fejjel Kristof

poniklo imreBy now everyone knows I am a fan of Mike Kentish and any band he is in. Tuesday night I saw him play at the Godor Klub with Poniklo Imre (also of Amber Smith). The cover charge of 500 huf did not manifest itself, a virtual free beer in savings, so that was already a good sign for the evening. I also met up with alt.country legend Mookie Brando, and ran into Tim who runs Club Vittula - to my knowledge, the first pub to use Fair Trade coffee and tea in Hungary. I found most of the songs quite similar to each other, with the exception of  "Fel a Fejjel Kristof," which could easily be a hit single. The drummer was great, and the whole feeling was a bit like Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk." The band obviously enjoyed themselves on stage and the friendship between members also came across. It was worth going out just to hear "Fel a Fejjel Kristof."
