Wide selection of quality second-hand English paperbacks at reasonable prices. The most "dangerous" street in Budapest: good books and gourmet food

Hopefully to be Replicated

As the black clouds rolled in over Margit hid Friday night a good crowd of Mookie Brando and Michael Kentish loyalists and fans huddled into the Replika Cafe (a small place just off of Margit Krt at Tolgyfa u. 26). The manager, Szilvia, was very nice, and the pub had the atmosphere of a family-run place. That feeling carried on with me the entire evening - which I enjoyed thoroughly - talking with lots of old and new friends - however, it means I cannot comment in detail about the music because I was too busy having a good time chatting. All I can say is that the the smoke was thick, the prices were reasonable, and the music was grand. Christopher Parsons,  Mookie Brando and Michael Kentish exchanged solo sets, and then played one together. Rae Hammond also sang on a couple tunes. Check out Rae tonight at Treehugger Dan's (19:30, Lazar u. 16) for her first solo gig, and last gig in Budapest for the forseeable future; followed by Michael Kentish's solo gig on September 16th.
