Solo Spinks
Friday night at Treehugger Dan's, Jonathan Spinks held his first solo concert. Well, it was semi-solo because Jacqueline Harvey harmonised on many of the songs. His nerves did not show, and he put on a good gig singing a mixture of covers and original songs on guitar and piano. Since moving to Budapest in 1999, he has been involved as singer-songwriter with bands Aiming For Sunday (Check out Aiming for Sunday's music video of "Hide Away" - very Matchbox 20) and JoKOR. His influences are listed as David Gray, Bob Dylan, Sting, Coldplay, and that showed in his choice of covers. Some of the tunes I enjoyed most included "Add Me as A Friend by Chumbawamba and "Secret Smile" by Semisonic.
