Zee Germans Are Funny, Too
Baby Blue Banana put together yet another great stand-up comedy evening last night. Service at Art Tatu was friendly, and the organisers put togther some specials from the menu. I saw to my grateful surprise a veggie burger as one of these offers not normally on the menu, and I would have tried it if I had not already eaten (they might want to rethink the price though at 1750 huf). Caledonia's new veggie burger is also set to enter the menu in the next couple weeks.
Last night had two headliners Christian Schulte-Loh from Germany and Benjamin Crellin from New Zealand. I have seen Christian on several occasions before and found him funny but lacking much fresh material. This time around was an altogether new proposition. Christian very much deserved co-billing. He was professional, self-confident, and most importantly, very funny. I was laughing and smiling consistently thoughout.
Benjamin Crellin was also excellent, with a wide range of material. While not always politically-correct, the jokes were very funny and also intellectually stimulating. One often had to stop and consider some of the deeper implications of his jokes. I wanted to write some down but I was laughing too much to go in search of paper and pen.
Not sure who is up next in November, but all the imported acts over the last 3-4 months have been consistently excellent, and I am very much looking forward to the next one.
