Acoustic Chocolates

random chocolatesLast night marked the first time the Random Chocolates all played together at Treehugger Dan's, and the first time they have ever done a semi-acoustic gig. We are getting better and better with the lighting, with more changes to come. If anyone knows anything about me, they know I am a huge fan of the Choks. Thanks Mookie for bringing the mike stands. I am doubly-lucky this week, because the Choks are going to rock at the Xpatloop.com charity gig to benefit the Smiling Hospital Foundation tonight at the Intercontinental.Their versitality was also displayed by the casual exchange of instruments between the band members. They tell me that they were not sure themselves who was going to play bass, guitar or drum on which song until that moment. They are so comfortable on stage, and playing music with each other (also exhibited in their harmonies), it draws the audience in. Some of my favorites on the night included Solar (Random Chocolates), Chocolate (Snow Patrol),  When Doves Cry (Prince), Found (Random Chocolates), 1979 (Smashing Pumpkins), Charlotte (Random Chocolates), Casa Retro (Random Chocolates), and the surprise fantastic version of That’s the Way (Led Zeppelin).
