Concert Report: Marco & Kati and Friends

marco & katiIt was a good night on Thursday, with  Marco & Kati on stage with friends Greg Zeigler on drums, Michael Kentish on guitar and Agoston Feher on cello. The band kicked off with Lori McKenna's "Ruby's Shoes," a song I suggested they do, which they perform wonderfully. There were lots of good new songs added to their set, but the treat of the night was their encore peformance of Lady Gaga's "Telephone." There was a ripple of laughter when people began to recognise the tune, but the band went into high gear and brought the audience with them. Much better than the original. My old friend Yura, an environmental activist from Ukraine whom I haven't seen in years, also showed up as a surprise.
