Just when you think it could not get any better, the Poosta Ramblers raised the bar again. One expects a superb performance when you get such 6 top musicians together on stage, but even so, it was an unexpected pleasure. Someone even said that it was the best show they had ever seen at Treehugger Dan's, and that's something! The white Christmas lights really improved the ambiance, and increased representation of faster-paced tunes in the setlist was also much appreciated. One of the many good things about the Poosta Ramblers concerts is the number of new tunes they introduce each time. There are thousands of country songs to choose from, and I already have a few requests in mind for next time. Last night's gig was the debut concert for fiddler Fiona Stewart who currently trades off lead fiddle with Jerome, with plans for Jerome to bring a mandolin into the band. Another feature of the Poostas is that they all sing. Fiona sang lead on two songs last night, and it was great to hear a female voice in the mix again. I particularly liked her on "Good Year for the Roses."

I loved the entire gig, but I would include  "I've Been Everywhere," "Fallin' and Flyin," the poostified version of David Bowie's "Modern Love," " Friend of the Devil," "Make Me Down a Pallet On Your Floor," and "I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive" among the highlights.
