Concert Review: Boll Weevil
Folk blues is alive and well in Budapest. Boll Weevil played Treehugger Dan's again Thursday night and put on another foot-stomping show for us (even minus their double-bass player and their fiddle player for most of the show). I particularly liked frontman David Ongjerth's self-penned songs, including his newest as yet untitled tune involving a chamber pot, and "Not Much Left To Ask." Once again, I really liked "Little Delia," "Rock Island Line," and "Hard Times." It was also good to see that the band is adding to its reperoire and showcased a number of new songs, including "Kansas City Blues." We hope to have them back again this summer.
