Concert Review: The Random Chocolates
Concerts by the Random Chocolates are never nearly as often as I would like, so I made sure to be in town to catch them live at Smiley's last Saturday. They played like rock stars. The set included a couple very nice surprises, such as drummer David Asztalos playing guitar on one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs "That's the Way," and Rich Adkin playing drums on the Talking Heads' "And She Was." The Chocks also premiered "You Make My Mind Shut Down on the Left Side," a lovely new original tune by Michael Kentish. I basically loved the entire night and could actually just list all the songs as highlights, but another special item was the rocked-up version of Michael Kentish's "The Trip, The Bell & The Salutation." And let's not forget the travelling drum. Catch Michael Kentish and Mork's Medicine tomorrow night (April 14th),and Michael Kentish and Jamie Howell on April 21st at Treehugger Dan's.
