Easter Weekend
Easter weekend was spent with friends at the house in the countryside cooking on the bogracs and the grill, and drinking vast amounts of beer in the process. Rich and Tara dug me a nice rock garden around the old well, and Tara installed an Inuit inukshuk. Apparently it doubles as an art installation named "Absentee Father." An inukshuk is a stone landmark or cairn representing a human figure built by humans and used by the Inuit and other peoples of the Arctic. The Arctic has areas with few natural landmarks and the inukshuk assist navigation. Brian Scoffield kept us well entertained singing some old country tunes as well as some of his own. He should have a gig worth checking out sometime in the next few weeks. The weather was cooperative, lending itself to a lot of sunbathing. I am looking forward to being able to swim across the lake again. And Attila came over to cut the grass for the first time in the season. With the newly-cut grass and the new flower beds and rock garden dug, the courtyard is really beginning to shape up. The menu included some awesome turkey burgers, huge salads, banana pancakes, and of course the bogracs.
