Concert Review: The Poosta Ramblers
The Poostas managed to lasso all their members into one place at one time on Thursday night and put on another fantastic show. You know when Greg's shoes come off that it's hoedown time. I am running out of ways to decribe the warm fuzzy feelings generated by this, one of my favorite bands. Some of the highlights included: "Speed of the Sound of Loneliness" "Long, Long, Long Time Ago," and "Fallin' and Flyin'." Two weeks in a row I get to hear Tom Waits songs live - thanks Greg for "Come on up to the House." By request, the band sang the classic Little Feat tune, "Willin'."Thanks folks! I love that song, and it was probably the first time in Hungarian history that a Little Feat song has been played here. It was very nice to hear Jerome and Greg sing "California Stars" together, and I especially enjoyed the call-and-response song "Y'All Come." That's it Mike, encourage the audience to participate more often. I am also very happy to report that Jerome and Fiona have added a mandolin to the line-up, and Bob's dobro is making regular appearances. About the only instrument missing now is a washboard.
