Unofficially Opening Howard's Wallet, Or Not

paul b. edwardsDan Thomas opened November's Baby Blue Banana standup comedy offering. I found some of his audience research quite intriguing. For example, among the 40-50 attendees, only two were married - both women. Also, there was not a single person that would admit to playing video or computer games. There were a few moments when I laughed out loud. For example, he mentioned that his baby was the coolest thing he has ever made with his penis. The film 127 Hours was completely unrealistic because in 127 hours, the male lead did not have a wank. Most interesting was his observation that about the only product that does not use sex to sell it is condoms.

Headliner Paul B. Edwards gave a very good and professional performance. Over his career he has performed over 2000 shows in the UK and around the world. He has appeared on TV for BBC, ITV and Channel 5 in the UK. As a writer, Paul has written for some of the UK's top comedy shows. The highlight was his Unofficial Opening Blog where he documents his openings of things that are already open. Howard asked him to do one in Budapest, so Paul poignantly decided to unofficially open Howard's wallet. Of course, Howard did not have his wallet on him and had to borrow one from the audience. Paul mixed it up with some musical comedy as well, including the new hit single "Koran, Koran," by a 1980's Islamic fundamentalist covers band. Apparently, he also likes fucking with the minds of American tourists by putting up a sign at Kings Cross Station for track 9 3/4 and encouraging small children to try to get to Hogwart's.
