An Early Spring-Late Winter Hike

harmashatarhegyThe weather is turning towards spring. My flower bulbs are beginning to poke through on the balcony. I had my holy Saturday cheese-dourcream-garlic langos at Hunyadi ter Market (best in Hungary) then took off to the hills with my friend Jon for a short hike in the sun and mud. We started at Huvosvolgy on the yellow trail. Some amoeba-head hacked all the blazes off with a machete for some reason, but if you search the bark on the ground you can usually find the color. We came down off the ridge on one side of the valley and crossed over to the other side and up Harmashatarhegy on the blue trail where we had our 70% cacao with orange "csucs csoki." Then down on the green + trail to Erdoalja u. There are some very wacky houses in this area. We stopped in at Tim and Eva's for some tea and cookies and to see their new place before heading home.
