Concert Review: The Poosta Ramblers
The Poosta Ramblers put on another superb show on Thursday. As usual, Budapest's only bona fide Americana ensemble played to a packed house, mixing old favorites and some new tunes. It was the first time I heard Mike on his birthday present ukelele. It was also a big night for Abel and Joey, their first time at an adult concert - my aren't they growing up fast. Andor Voros was home with the flu and Fiona Stewart was conducting research at beach resorts, but the rest of the Poostas were on hand for another footstomping hootenanny. The best part of the wholly enjoyable evening was when the audience was encouraged to participate on "Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down" and "Y'All Come." Greg's "Where in the World Did You Go with My Toothbrush?" still makes me laugh no matter how many times I hear it. Catch them at Gondozo (Vajdahunyad utca 4., Budapest, Hungary, 1081) on March 31st. Then again on May 17 at Treehugger Dan's.
