Voicing Over the First Female Rabbi
I was asked last night to do a voice over for a new documentary film by director Diana Groo and Katapult Film on the life of the first female rabbi, Regina Jonas . Katapult is partly or fully responsible for such films as Feher Tenyer (White Palms, 2006), Moszkva ter (a classic film from 2001 about Hungary in 1989) and Opium (2007, based on the diaries of Geza Csath). I have never done a voice over before and was a bit nervous. But when I walked into the studio, I knew almost everyone or they knew me. Bianca Otero was there (her Tokaj photo exhibition is still up at Treehugger Dan's), Trish who I knew from a party where I was Santa, etc. I played the narrator and an angry Orthodox Jew. It was fun to do, and also see old friends working on a worthy project together.
