Concert Review: Marco & Kati
Kati and Marco (and Greg and Agoston) put on another fine performance at Treehugger Dan's last Thursday. I think Kati gave one of her best performances to date. Although one of my favorites, "Ruby's Shoes" was missing from the set list, there was plenty of great stuff - including quite a few new tunes. Marco and Kati opened strongly with a great version of Adele/Steeldrivers' "If it Hadn't Been for Love." Other highlight's included Marco's amazing rendition of John Butler's "Ocean," Damien Rice's "Eskimo Friend," one of the Veronika Harcsa songs, Nick Drake/Lisa Hanningan's "Black Eyed Dog", Cee-Lo-Green's "Forget You," and Laura Marling's "Devil's Spoke." Agoston Feher on cello is happliy a permanent addition, and Greg's big smile and drumming always lights up the stage. The duo's (or quartet's?) movement towards more bluesy jazz is working. Catch them again at Treehugger Dan's on Februrary 16, 2012.
