Concert Review: Emporium of Sound: Flaunt It If You've Got It!

yasya protsLast week Treehugger Dan's held its first double-header concert. Featuring Yasya Prots from Ukraine and Tod Doyle (IR) and the Trouble, it was a packed house with plenty of new faces. I first heard Yasya a few months back at one of the Monday open mike nights at Pot Kulcs and decided I wanted her to sing at the shop. I did not know who she was then, and just called her "the mystery woman" in my blog. 99% of the time people approach me. Until now, I had only asked the Last Drops after hearing them. Yasya played a more subdued but sweet set than at Pot Kulcs, on piano and guitar:

Set List:
-Maybe its me(my new song),

-Almost lover(cover),
-Oh Soul
-Chervona Ruta
-On his face
-Toy Deny
-And song that was born on the concert doesnt have a name:)
-Stay on love

Tod brought a few other international and Hungarian musicians with him to play
tod doylecello, electric stand-up base and piano, loosely known as The Trouble. They gave a very high energy performance, ending with a great version of "Your Protector," which I took for his own.

Set List:
-Soviet Song
-Home
-Four Walls
-Head Shop
-Bible
-Terrorised
-Kirbman
-Your Protector (Fleet Foxes)

One guest mentioned that it was one of the best concerts he has been to at Treehugger Dan's. We hope to have them both back in the Autumn.
