Dutch New Years
I had the pleasure of escorting my neighbor from Szakacsi Thursday night to the New Years party at the Dutch Ambassador's residence. I bought a suit a year ago, but this was the first time I had worn it. This, after several years of borrowing from friends when the need arose. After a lot of freaking out, I realised that none of my ties matched the shirt I had ironed, so I did what Elisabeth called a "Prince Klaus" and went tie-less.Read more »

Urbi et Orbi
Two Hungarian friends invited me to the theater (Siraly) last night, but I had no idea what we were going to see. When I saw the title, I was immediately reminded of the Hungarian name for Obie in Garfield. Then when I found it was the same troupe from Vojvodina that we saw in the Brecht play a couple weeks ago, I entered with some trepidation. My fears were totally unwarranted, and it was an excellent production.Read more »
